ONE of Weston’s premier tourist attractions gave a glimpse into the town’s future as major demolition work on Sands nightclub continued this week.

Weston’s wheel provides riders with a stunning view of the 30-35million Dolphin Square regeneration project which is due to be completed in 2013. A spokesman for developers McLaren Life said it is running on time.

Work began on knocking down the late-night entertainment venue at the beginning of last week as diggers and bulldozers moved in.

No definite plans for the nightclub site have been announced and a planning application for it is expected at some point next year.

Construction work on the 112-bed Premier Inn hotel next to it in Beach Road began back in August.
