Developer supports good causes across Weston-super-Mare

Property developer Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme has hit a milestone of £1million in charitable donations.

Persimmon is building hundreds of homes at Haywood Village and people living in the development have benefitted from the scheme.

Persimmon gave £1,000 to Haywood Village Residents’ Association to host a celebration of sport in July last year.

The company has also donated to Weston RNLI, the J21 Gymnastics Club, 1st North Worle Scouts, Locking Primary School, The Levels Scout Group, The Hive and Ravenswood School since the scheme launched in March last year.

Persimmon’s chief executive Jeff Fairburn said: “Our programme supports grass roots community causes. To reach £1million is a fantastic achievement and I’m pleased we have supported such worthy causes and vital local services which made a real difference in their communities.”
