ARCHAEOLOGISTS are excavating a car park in Dolphin Square for items of historical significance.
The dig is being carried out before a new car park is built as part of the multi-million pound Weston development which is expected to be completed next year.
Construction work on a 112-bed Premier Inn hotel is ongoing with restaurant chains Pizza Express, Prezzo, Nando’s and Harvester joining First Bowl and Vue Cinemas at the new complex.
But former Sands nightclub site, which was demolished in November, has been covered in tarmac, although one member of the public said its unevenness made it look like a skate park.
