The opening of Weston’s multi-million-pound Dolphin Square leisure complex is now thought to be only a matter of months away.

The Carlton Street complex will be home to a Cineworld cinema, an Anytime Fitness gym, an indoor climbing centre and restaurants including Nando’s, Preto and Prezzo once it opens its doors.

Construction work began on the site in November 2015 after being delayed for several years and despite this initial lack of progress, the project has since developed steadily.

A spokesman for developer McLaren Life said the firm expected workers would be able to begin fitting out the inside of the development in June, although this hinged on the individual requirements of each business.

He also said McLaren hoped the complex would be fully open in August.
