A JOBS fair has been labelled a success by employers in the week that unemployment figures for Weston and nearby villages fell.
Regional jobseekers rates have fallen to just 2.4 per cent, putting North Somerset below the national average.
John Penrose MP, who organised the job fair, said: “These figures are very encouraging, and they confirm the positive reaction to the very successful jobs fair we held on September 15.
“More than 40 local firms and nearly 700 jobseekers attended and, between them, they made 3,000 new contacts that could each lead to a new job.”
