A WESTON dental firm wants to expand its practice.
The Houston Group, in Milton Road, has applied for planning permission to partially demolish a house and car showroom. In its place, it wants a ‘residential unit, dental laboratory and seminar facilities’. It says at the moment it does not have the space to offer dedicated teaching and hopes the extension will allow that to happen.
In the company’s design and access statement, which is submitted as part of the planning process, it says: “This will provide a new state-of-the-art facility, incorporating energy saving methods and will, we believe, enhance the street scene when viewed from Milton Road.
“The seminar facility will bring visiting specialists into the town and promote the area as a centre of dental excellence, our clients continued investment in his complex in Weston should be applauded and supported by the council.”
The Houston Group runs 31 surgeries, including those in Weston, Nailsea, Pill and Clevedon.
