A FATHER and son business duo have just spent tens of thousands of pounds renovating a well-known Weston pub.
Chris and Sam Cureton have bought the Britannia Inn, one of the oldest watering holes in town.
They have turned it into a contemporary wine and coffee bar, having completely refurbished the High Street property.
Sam, aged 20 has just finished his music technology degree at Weston College.
Chris, aged 57, said: “Sam had a son and that changed his plans and I was looking for a project.
“The pub was a sleeping dinosaur, everyone had good memories of it, but it was dying.”
The pair have gutted the inside of the pub and The Brit Coffee and Wine Bar is set to open to the public this weekend.
Chris, who along with Sam has lived in Weston for 15 years, added: “In theory it should be a chilled place.
“There will be no television and it is a place where people can come without hassle.”
