STAFF from a firework company in Upper Langford were tasked with an unusual mission – to light up the skies at both ends of the United Kingdom at once.
Skyburst was called in to provide displays at Stromness in Orkney and Land’s End in Cornwall at the same time.
The firm was called in to provide music at the Stromness Shopping Week, the longest-running festival in Orkney, while also providing explosive entertainment at the Magic In The Skies firework at the United Kingdom’s southernmost point on July 23.
Company managing director Alan Christie said: “We have firing teams all over the country but it was very special to think that we had displays going on at the same time at completely opposite ends of the country.”
