A Weston-super-Mare business specialising in landscaping has been bought by the UK arm of a French company.

Quadron Services, which moved to its headquarters in Warne Road in 2011, has been taken over by Idverde UK.

Quadron does work for councils, including cutting grass, maintaining sports pitches and cleaning inside buildings.

The firm’s current management team will remain in post, although the impact on other staff will be decided by Idverde in the future.

Clive Ivil, managing director of Quadron, said: “We see joining the Idverde family as the best possible opportunity to build on Quadron’s success, and take it to the next level.

The sale means Idverde now has a £90million turnover, and 1,600 staff.

A spokesman for the accountancy firm BDO LLP, which advised on the sale, said: “All the Quadron senior management team will remain in key positions in the newly consolidated structure.”

Idverde has 80 offices across the UK and France.

Nick Temple-Heald, chief executive for Idverde UK, said: “We have always respected and admired Quadron for their strong client relationships and innovation in community engagement.

“Our two management teams are looking forward to working together to create even better value for our customers and wonderful career opportunities for all our staff.”

Quadron was chosen as ‘employer of the year’ in 2015 at the British Association of Landscape Industries Awards. The Landscape Group, which was bought by Idverde in March 2015, also won two awards at the same ceremony.

Mr Temple-Heald added: “Bringing together Quadron and The Landscape Group as sister companies within Idverde UK is the perfect outcome of our plan to grow the Idverde UK business.

“Our two businesses are both green specialists and passionate about the importance of parks and green spaces in the lives of the British people.”
