THE future of the region’s economy will be the subject of the next meeting of the Weston Chamber of Trade and Commerce this week.

James Durie, director of the Initiative, Business West and of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, will be talking about the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) at the meeting at the Royal Hotel on Wednesday at 7pm.

He will talk on how the LEP, a group made up of council officials and business leaders, can help encourage economic growth in the South West.

The chamber’s president, Gail Parsons, said: “We are delighted that James Durie will be speaking at our next meeting and look forward to finding out more about the LEP. “In the current economic climate, we have no doubt that this topic will be of great interest to many of our members and non-members, and look forward to seeing them at the meeting.”
