A BRAND new extra care housing scheme in Worle has been sold.

Diamond Court, in Diamond Batch, has been bought be Housing 21 in partnership with North Somerset Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

The 53 rental apartments for older people will be ready to move in to next month, but there is an open day taking place next Tuesday from 2pm.

During the open day prospective tenants will be able to see a fully furnished show flat as well as the many on-site facilities, which include a hairdressing salon, residents' lounge, roof terrace, library, guest room, laundry and buggy store.

Julia Godwin, Development Programme Manager for Housing 21 said: "These apartments have been built to a high standard and are fitted with emergency call facilities and security door entry system, making them safe and secure.

"Extra care housing provides tenants with independence, allowing them to live in their own home in a communal setting, but with the reassurance of care and support being available on site 24 hours a day."

Prospective tenants must be aged 55 or over, be in need of care and support and reside in or have a strong connection with North Somerset.
