A new pet shop selling natural food is having its official opening in Weston this Saturday.

Independent Pet Co will open its doors in The Centre, and will mainly cater for the needs of dogs and cats.

Kelly Adderley has been working in the pet industry for four years, and when she spotted a gap in the market for ethically sourced pet products across the South West, she decided to open her own business.

She said: “All the products I sell are sustainably sourced, contain natural ingredients and come from the UK.

“Since I have been working in the pet trade I have realised a lot of issues dogs have can be cured by feeding them a better diet.

“I like to think I offer a different shopping experience to pet owners.”

The opening, starting at 9.30am, will have a nutritional adviser on hand, a pet photographer and goodie bags and mince pies will be handed out to the first 50 customers.
