Around 20 new jobs will be created at a home improvement company when Worle’s Homebase is replaced by a new store.

Bunnings Warehouse, an Australian and New Zealand-based homeware and gardening retailer, bought Homebase for £340million.

The Worle store, in Bristol Road, will be converted into a Bunnings, and will open later this year, although a date has not yet been finalised.

The existing Homebase staff will keep their jobs and will receive additional training.

Around 20 full and part-time jobs are also being created.

Paul Hill, complex manager at the Bunnings in Worle, said: “It is a great time to join the Bunnings Warehouse team here in Worle.

“There are roles available across all areas, with hours to suit.

“We want to build a high-quality team so we can build strong business foundations for the future.”
