The firm applied to the council in April to convert the old post office, in Regent Street, into a dessert parlour.

And this week the council granted permission for Kaspa’s to revamp the vacant building, but a timescale for the conversion is yet to be confirmed.

The building has been vacant for two years after the post office relocated across the road to Alexandra Parade.
