A LETTINGS agency in Weston is reminding landlords that from the start of this month the official gas safety watchdog in the UK will change from CORGI to the Gas Safe Register.
Palmer Snell Lettings in the Boulevard, Weston, is warning landlords to make sure they use a fully qualified Gas Safe engineer.
Branch manager, Gavin Cox, said: "Landlords should check two things before employing a gas engineer.
"First, check to see if they are registered as a Gas Safe engineer and request their identification card when the engineer arrives on the premises.
"Secondly, make sure the engineer is qualified to carry out the work you require by checking the back of the ID card.
"Engineers have a range of qualifications that allow them to carry out different types of gas work."
It is easy to check if an engineer is registered with Gas Safe by searching online at www.gassaferegister.co.uk or calling 0800 408 5500.
