A CURRENCY exchange firm will open a new branch in Weston High Street on Wednesday – and create three new jobs.

Cheque Centre is setting up shop at 6 High Street, and describes itself as an instant cash service, offering short-term loans, a currency exchange, and buying gold and other items.

Bill Shaw, managing director of the Edinburgh-based firm, said: “The Weston branch of the business should be a welcome addition to the High Street.

“Whenever possible we employ people from the local community. In doing so, we believe we have staff with a feel for and an understanding of the needs of Weston people.”

The firm is celebrating the opening of its new branch by naming the NSPCC as its charity of the year, pledging a minimum 25,000 donation to the children’s cause this year.
