BUILDING work at Dolphin Square may not start at the end of this month as planned, the site’s developer has revealed.

McLaren Life said at the beginning of the summer it ‘anticipated’ starting work on the leisure section in September although it appears that start date has been pushed back to slightly later in the autumn.

However a spokesman said it would not change the estimated completion dates.

Cineworld’s multiplex is due to open by the end of 2015 and the rest of the leisure sector, including restaurant chains such as Pizza Express and Nando’s, will open in spring 2016.

Half the site remains earmarked for retailers, however none have committed to the project as yet.

McLaren Life is confident that interest will materialise once the leisure sector is complete.
