THE new landlords of a Highbridge pub say they want to open it up to families and hope to hold a variety of different musical nights.

Former paint sprayer Chris Jefferies, 58, and his wife Sue, 56, who have lived in the area for 18 years, took over the Globe Inn on November 24.

As well as having bar food, Mr Jefferies is arranging a variety of different themed evenings, such as karaoke, folk, disco and country.

He said: “We’re hoping we can attract a lot of families here, especially in the summer when we can open up the garden.

“It’s certainly a different experience, and it’s definitely nice to be behind the bar and my own boss now.”
