A ONCE popular Weston watering hole which is undergoing a major 2.4million revamp will retain part of its historic name.

With the opening of the Cabot 5 Bars just two months away, owners JD Wetherspoon announced last month that it would be renamed The Venetian Trader.

However, the pub’s bosses appear to have had a last minute change of heart and will now be calling it the Cabot Court Hotel.

The pub was boarded up for months and despite many rumours about its future, a planning application to transform the bar and adjoining hotel was approved last month.

As of July 19 revellers will be able to check out the new granite bars, dance floor and fully refurbished dcor and seating areas at the Knightstone Road site.
