A WESTON man has kept his business in the family as he recently took over the pub his mother used to run.
Phil Bennett recently took over the Market House inn in High Street, and has relaunched it as the New Market pub, seventeen years since his mother Liz Charnley was last behind the bar in 1993.
Mr Bennett said: “My mum was obviously the landlady before, so it’s a bit like coming back home really, it’s very familiar.
“It’s obviously been redecorated, but I’ve left the old Theatre Bar the same as it always has been. We now do food as well and we’ve got skysports too.”
Mrs Charnley said: “It seems very strange with Phil taking over the pub all the years since I was the landlady there.”
