A NURSERY has picked up two awards for its gardening efforts.
Cleeve Nursery has won a gold and a silver medal for the work it has carried out in recent weeks.
At the National Gardening Show, Cleeve Nursery scooped the top prize for its community edible bus stop initiative which encouraged people to grow vegetables in unusual places.
And in September it was awarded second place by Garden Trade News for its jubilee garden centre displays.
Alan Down, partner of Cleeve Nursery, said the jubilee award came as a massive shock because he did not even enter the competition.
He said: “The organisers had seen our Jubilee display at Cleeve and had entered on our behalf.
“To get such an accolade was a great surprise and to be runners-up in a category dominated by extremely large garden centres, many with their own dedicated display teams, is especially gratifying and a testament to the hard work that our small dedicated team put in.”
