A Milton takeaway will be joining the plight against homelessness this week.

To mark the start of Ramadan, a Muslim holy month where people fast during the day and carry out selfless acts, Pappadoms in Milton Road will donate food, water, deodorants and wet wipes to Feed The Homeless Weston (FTH).

FTH, a charity which was set up last week to feed the town’s rough sleepers, called on local businesses to volunteer time, resources and food to help with their appeal.

Pappadoms owner Sayd Ahmed posted in the FTH Facebook group saying: “We will be supplying food every Sunday continuously until further notice. We have for the past five years supplied food to Somewhere To Go, Quakers Church and Salvation Army for the whole month of Ramadan.”

Ramadan started on Tuesday and will run until June 14.
