POSTAL workers in Weston are planning strike action due to increased delivery rounds.
Workers met outside the Royal Mail offices on Warne Road on Monday morning to request a ballot for strike action.
The Communication Workers Union say the action is in response to managers introducing unworkable changes to delivery rounds, a failure to honour summer holiday arrangements and allegations of bullying and intimidation.
David Wilshire, of CWU Bristol, said “Managers with no local experience are sitting in an office miles away, dictating how delivery rounds will be lengthened because of what comes out of a computer.
“Nobody has had the sense to ask postal workers in Weston whether the enlarged deliveries can be completed on time and this has resulted in the request for a strike ballot.”
