Puxton Park’s nursery plan approved at last

After two years of negotiations, Puxton Park has finally received permission to build a nursery from North Somerset Council.
The authority this week gave the attraction’s plans to build a nursery – which will care for 35 children throughout the year – the go-ahead after long-winded discussions.
Construction could begin as early as November.
Managing director, Alistair Mead, said: “This is something we’ve wanted to do for years so it is fantastic to finally have permission to start building.
“We’ve always had a deep-rooted passion for supporting educational facilities which will benefit the local community and we feel Puxton Park is the perfect environment to encourage children to grow up with a love for the great outdoors.
“The nursery will allow us to put cash flow back into the local economy.
“It will also require more staff bringing much-needed extra employment to the area.”
