Puxton Park has unveiled a new attraction to the public this week, bolstering its all-weather offering.

The 30,000 square foot Discovery Adventure Barn hosts a range of creatures and an auditorium for indoor shows.

A healthy crowd was in attendance on Saturday to meet Ardman Animations’ television and film star Shaun The Sheep, who was on hand to entertain youngsters.

The 250-seat auditorium was packed for birds of prey demonstration, which was delivered by the resident falconry experts at the park.

Animal handlers also provided guests with animal grooming classes.

Children and parents were able to get up close and personal with the sheep, goats, ponies and donkeys which reside in the barn.

A range of exotic creatures are also housed in the building, including insects, parrots and alpacas.

Puxton plans to use the 500-capacity facility to ‘run a program of events in line with seasonal changes, farming activities and one-off celebrations’.
