A BURGER van owner has had an application to trade in Weston refused for the second time in two months.
Hasan Ulu’s request for street trading consent on Lynx Crescent on the Oldmixon was rejected by North Somerset Council last week – after another application for Loxton Road on the Coronation was refused in January.
The council’s Planning and Regulatory (Licensing) Sub-Committee took the advice of an environmental health officer who said it would pose a risk to public safety.
He said the area has a seagull problem and people who buy food from the burger van would be put at risk by the birds’ aggressive behaviour.
Mr Ulu had wanted to trade under the name Umet Breakfast, selling hot food and refreshments from 6am-6pm seven days a week.
