A COMMUNITY-BASED enterprise scooped two awards at Weston College’s Excellence in Business Training Awards, in recognition of its work with young people.
The Employer of the Year award was given to Alliance Homes in recognition of its apprenticeship scheme and the Construction Employer of the Year award celebrated its trade apprenticeship scheme.
Alongside these two awards, one of Alliance Homes’ apprentices, Abigail Nicholas, was highly commended within the Voluntary Sector Learner of the Year award.
Alliance Homes works closely with Weston College to provide apprenticeship places to local young people in a variety of departments.
Michael Williams, business enterprise manager, said: “It has become more important than ever to support young people who may be struggling to get employment. With the invaluable help of Weston College, our apprenticeship scheme is going from strength to strength and we have some really exciting plans in the pipeline that will help even more local people get training and job opportunities.”
