A Somerset business has been rewarded for giving ‘something extra’ to the community by being nominated in the heart of gold category of the Small Awards.

Back in 2012, Eat Festivals were born and the event in Burnham happens twice a year, with Weston’s event making its debut last month in the town centre. The festivals, which are also held in Wellington and Taunton, attract thousands of people and are organised by Beverley and Sarah Milner Simonds.

Beverley said: “We are over the moon to have been shortlisted. The festivals are a real celebration of each town.”

The winners of the awards, which salute success in small businesses, will be announced in London on May 25.
