A SPA with a salon in Weston-super-Mare has been chosen as the South West’s best small employer of the year.

Beauty Oasis Spa, which has three salons including one in Locking Road, beat 1,200 other applicants to win the award at the National Apprenticeship Awards’ regional final.

The awards recognise businesses which take on apprentices, and apprentices who make a significant contribution to their workplace.

Sarah Hallaran from Beauty Oasis Spa said: “We are thrilled and excited to have won this award which is truly down to the dedication of the training and management team and their professionalism which is an inspiration to all our apprentices.”

The spa takes on at least five apprentices a year across its salons in Weston, Winscombe and Clevedon.

The team collected the award at a ceremony in Taunton.

It will now be entered into the national finals, and the overall winners will be revealed in
January.
