A NATIONAL supermarket chain has celebrated opening a new convenience store in Congresbury with a donation to a West Country neo-natal intensive care unit.

Tesco Express unveiled its new outlet in Brinsea Road, and marked the occasion by handing over £500 to Bath’s Royal United Hospital.

Store manager Jason Cooper said: “We were delighted to be able to support the (hospital) as they do fantastic work for the South West – including Congresbury.

“My team and I hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community.”
