A TAKEAWAY chain, which aimed to become the premier food business in the UK, has closed within six months of opening.

Chinese eatery Hotcha launched with big plans to conquer the South West when it opened its new site in Weston’s Regent Street at the turn of the year.

But the interior was this week stripped out following the company’s decision to quit the town centre.

A Hotcha spokesman confirmed the chain had left Weston. She said the company had closed that branch in favour of opening a new store in Stroud.
