THE new Tesco Express store celebrated its opening last week by making a donation to Weston Hospicecare.
Fundraising and communications manager, Penny Beare, was guest of honour at the official opening of the store in The Boulevard, Weston, last Thursday.
As part of the opening celebrations store manager Mark Jarvis and his staff presented a cheque for £500 to the charity as part of Tesco's commitment to helping local communities.
Penny said: "The donation will allow us to purchase some new bedding for our in-patient unit and the rest will go towards our overall running costs."
The store is open seven days a week from 6am-11pm.
