YOUNGSTERS have scooped some prizes in a competition for the best pet in town.
Throughout July Companion Care Vets, in Marchfields Way, Weston, ran a free competition where children aged 12 or under were invited to send a photograph, painting or drawing of their furry friend, along with up to 150 words explaining why they should win.
Overall winner was Tilly the cat, entered by Bethany Davidson.
Runners-up prizes were awarded to William and Lucy Maine, Jade Carpenter, Sinead Hayward and Class 1B of Bournville Primary School, while best words and description went to Jade Withy.
The finalists and their family and friends attended a prize-giving ceremony.
