A NEW tile shop offering designs for kitchens, bathrooms and trade orders was officially opened on Monday.
Weston Ceramics flung open its doors to its site on Longton Trading Estate in Weston.
Director Tina Northern decided to start up the business after being made redundant from her previous job in the tiling industry.
The 43-year-old said: "I lost my job in October, after working in the trade for 13 years.
"I've recruited another colleague of mine, Dee Simpson, who was also made redundant and I am running the business with my partner Darren Trebert.
"We've started the business in just 12 weeks - something we are really proud of."
Tina, who used to work in the catering industry in Dartmoor, before moving to Weston 17 years ago, added: "We are an experienced team with lots of enthusiasm.
"I've built up strong relationships with people in the trade over the years so I think that will really help.
