Tim Lamb (pictured) is creating more jobs now he has taken over the outlet at Weston Links, off Winterstoke Road, expanding his group of three restaurants to four.

He has had a long and successful career with the fast food chain, having first joined in 1989 as a part-time crew member in Wolverhampton.

He worked his way up to regional franchise manager before becoming a franchisee and taking on his first two restaurants in Weston town centre and Worle in 2008, with a third in Portishead following in 2010.

The addition of the restaurant in Weston Links now means Tim owns the franchise for all the McDonald’s restaurants in North Somerset, employing 350 people.

The move means new job appointments and promotions, including three new managerial positions and a managerial promotion.

Tim’s plans for an extensive refurbishment of McDonald’s in Weston Links will mean a substantial investment.

New additions and improvements are likely to include a remodelled dining area with new comfortable seating and free WiFi for customers, alongside enhanced kitchen and drive-through facilities.

Tim said: “I’m excited about taking on this new venture.

“As a local businessman I’m keen to ensure steady investment in the area and am pleased to be able to provide a number of new jobs and offer consistent career progression.

“We hope to see existing fans of McDonald’s coming to enjoy what they know and love, as well as attracting new customers to the Weston Links restaurant with the new look and feel following our refurbishment later in the year.”
