A NATIONAL charity which helps disabled people get out and about has awarded a Weston car dealer a customer service award.

Howards Toyota, in Herluin Way, was recognised for its part in the Motability Car Scheme which enables people to use their government-funded mobility allowances to buy specially adapted vehicles.

One of the dealer's two Motability sales specialists Becky Davies, aged 27, was given the award after receiving the highest number of votes in a South West customer satisfaction survey.

Becky, who has worked for the firm for seven years after leaving her check-in assistant job at Bristol International Airport, said: "I wasn't expecting the award.

"Someone just walked in and gave it to me.

"I think people like me because I'm friendly, easy to talk to and not pushy.

"I like working with people face-to-face and helping them with their choice of vehicle."

She has been part of the scheme for 18 months and says customers stay loyal to the cars for their 'quality and reliability'.
