A year after construction finally began on the third phase of Weston’s Dolphin Square leisure development, the project has taken an important step forward after its walls were put in place last week.

The photo, taken by Nick Page Hayman, shows work moving ahead at the £45million site, which will include a Cineworld cinema, a gym, an indoor climbing centre and restaurants when it opens.

North Somerset Council told the Mercury work on the development – which is being developed by McLaren Life and is set to open next summer – is progressing on schedule, and people can expect to see its walls daubed with bright colours in the coming weeks.
