THE Post Office in McColl’s newsagents in Boulevard in Weston is looking for a new venue.
McColl’s has no plans to close the shop, however, and has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a presence in the town centre.
The Post Office plans to extend opening hours across the UK under a new operating model.
Subpostmasters have been asked if they wish to switch to the new model, stay the same or give up their Post Office and receive compensation.
The vacancy will be advertised soon and a six-week consultation will be held before any decision is made.
If a suitable applicant is not found, the Post Office will remain in McColl’s.
