A Weston entrepreneur has won a competition to attend the Forbes' Under-30 Summit this Sunday.
Harry Parslow, who is the founder of music touring business TorLife, won the competition when organiser Luke Massie wanted to find ‘someone aspiring to be successful’ and who will make the most out of the five-day event.
More than 500 people took part, and Harry will travel to the summit in Boston where 7,000 young entrepreneurs and 200 guest-speakers are set to attend.
Harry said: “I’m excited, nervous and surprised – one minute I am running my business in Weston and the next I’m off to the City Hall Plaza in Boston.”
“This has been a passion of mine for some time which I have made a career out of, so I am really looking forward to meeting people there who I aspire to work with in the future.”
Guest speakers at the event include LinkedIn’s managing global news editor, Caroline Fairchild, the founder of Spanx, Sara Blakely and American figure skater Adam Rippon.
Harry, aged 21, added: “I want to thank everyone who put my name forward who gave me the opportunity to go – and I think I owe a few people a drink.”
More than 50 people sent messages in support of Harry to Luke on Twitter, and they spoke about their belief in his ability to go far in his career.
Founder of service provider business The Vibe Group, Luke, said: “I really think Harry will make the most of this incredible opportunity, which will open many doors for both him and myself.
“I truly believe Harry could make the Forbes list (of billionaires) himself one day.”
Harry’s business in Weston’s Oldmixon provides touring management services to people in the music industry, including in video, photography and brand partnerships.
He has travelled to Germany, Switzerland and Holland on music tours with TorLife and has worked with DJ Annie Mac, American singer songwriter’s T-Pain and Xzibit and DJ and Radio 1 presenter MistaJam.
The company has just purchased a tour van and now offers a transport service as it looks to expand in England and America.
Harry studied at Weston College and graduated in Media and Film studies in 2015.
