GOT a fabulous business idea but need a bit of support to get your venture off the ground? Well, we can help!
The Mercury has teamed up with Legal and General Properties, landlord of Weston Industrial Estate, for a unique new competition.
We want to find Weston’s Next Top Businessman – and we’re offering a prize worth thousands of pounds to our winner.
We are looking for the best new business start-up idea – and a dedicated company HQ is on offer completely rent-free for a whole year as a helping hand for the up-and-coming entrepreneur picked as our champion.
Will Edwards, of Legal and General Property, said: “We recognise the importance of the enterprise of individuals and small businesses.
“As the owner of Weston Industrial Estate and a stakeholder in the local community, we feel that we have a significant role to play in encouraging local start-up businesses.
“This competition offers such businesses a rare opportunity to take on their own premises for a fraction of the normal cost.”
The contest is open to anyone within the BS postcode, and a winner will be picked by a panel of business experts in December. The victor could even move into their prize premises as early as January.
So if you’re starting out in business and currently trading from your spare room while you weigh up whether to take the plunge, this competition could be the perfect opportunity.
With no rent to pay for a year, this really is a unique opportunity to kick-start your new business idea.
Mercury editor Judi Kisiel said: “We know it’s been a tough few years for people looking to start out in business, but that doesn’t mean there is a lack of great ideas out there – far from it.
“This is an exciting prize, and could be the perfect way to turn one of those great ideas into a thriving new Weston business.”
