A MARKET garden in Wrington has been announced as a South West finalist in the Countryside Alliance Awards for local food.

Wrington Greens, which produces top quality organic produce for restaurants, wholesalers and the local community, was set up two years ago by Eliza Ross.

The farm on Nates Lane is fully organic and follows the Soil Association's strict environmental standards.

The business is also passionate about reducing its carbon footprint and recycles all rubbish and uses biodegradable packaging and composting toilets.

Eiza opened a farm shop on the site in July and only stocks the farm's own produce.

Wrington Greens recently took on Barley Wood Walled Garden, its orchards and apple barn and now makes apple juice and cider which is sold in the shop.

Eliza said: "We are delighted to be a finalist.

We have worked so hard through two of the wettest seasons.
