DAIRY producer Yeo Valley has won a new award for going the extra mile to improve the lives of its cows and calves.
The Blagdon-based company was handed the inaugural good dairy award at the Compassion in World Farming Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards 2011 in London.
Collecting the award, the company’s director of communications Graham Keating said: “We demand the highest levels of animal welfare. We are delighted that the good dairy award recognises this, on both our own farm and on the 90 farms which supply milk for Yeo Valley organic products.”
