A revised planning application has been submitted for the former Highbridge Hotel site.
Work could finally be set to begin on the grade II-listed hotel, in Huntspill Road, in February, after a series of delays.
YMCA Somerset Coast, which has owned the site since 2014, announced its plans to create 22 units of affordable supported housing for 16 to 25-year-olds.
Original plans for the multi-use games area have been changed to provide a larger sports and events hall that will be better suited to a residential area, and more beneficial to the community.
The site has remained untouched and derelict since it was hit by a devastating fire in 2008.
YMCA chief executive Martin Hodgson told Burnham and Highbridge Town Council: “The plans have taken an incredible length of time to come to fruition, but we have secured all the necessary funds.”
