A busy Weston-super-Mare road will undergo a seven-week programme of roadworks starting next week.

The B3440 Bristol Road will be subject to a two-phase roadworks scheme.

The first phase will begin on Monday, and will include repairs, improved signage and the installation of a cycle lane – with the road remaining open.

The second phase will begin on June 5, with the road being closed overnight on weekdays from 8pm to 6am for two weeks to resurface the road.

The scheme, which will be delivered by Skanska, will cost North Somerset Council £510,000.
