By-election for Wyvern ward

THE death of a dedicated Weston councillor has prompted a by-election for his former ward.
Cllr Tony Probert died on June 13, aged 74, after battling with motor neurone disease.
The Labour member was the ward councillor for Wyvern on Weston Town Council and a date has now been announced for the poll.
The polling station for the by-election will be opened on September 11 at Weston Rugby Club in Drove Road and nomination papers are available from the Town Hall.
The nomination period will close at 4pm on August 14.
