AIR cadets from Weston and Burnham took to the skies in a search and rescue helicopter during a visit to a South West RAF headquarters.

Youngsters from the 290 Squadron Air Cadets enjoyed a flight in an operational Sea King during their trip to North Devon’s Chivenor base.

Cadet Sergeant Daniel Hopkins, aged 16, said: “What a fantastic visit, being winched up was amazing! I can’t wait for the next trip.”
