Archant

Tourists at a Somerset holiday park had a shock when a crocodile was spotted in its fishing lake today (Friday).

Holiday Resort Unity, in Brean, had several calls from concerned holidaymakers who had spotted the crocodile in the resort’s fishing lake.

The park’s conservation team quickly discovered some elaborate pranksters had stolen the crocodile from neighbouring Brean Leisure Park’s crazy golf course and placed it in the lake.

Holiday Resort Unity owner Alan House said: “We were obviously very shocked to receive calls about a crocodile spotted in our fishing lake.

“It must have taken a great deal of effort to have pulled off this prank, which gave us and some of our resort guests quite a shock – and a laugh – this morning.”

The crocodile has now been returned to its rightful home at Brean Leisure Park.
