TWO camp sites will be set up on Weston seafront as part of this year's motorcycle beach race.

Campers will be able to pitch up on the Beach Lawns on October 13 and 14.

This year’s RHL Beach Race will feature the two areas, just a stone’s throw away from the dunes course on which more than 1,500 riders will do battle.

The Platinum Camping area is to be located on the Beach Lawns, adjacent to the main pedestrian access point at the Tropicana.

It will be open to motorhomes, camper vans and self-sufficient converted vans and will offer access to the biggest off-road event on the UK calendar.

The Quad Village will be a dedicated camping area open only to those competing at the race on four wheels.

RHL Activities director Gareth Hockey said: “The Platinum Campsite and the Quad Village will be right at the heart of the race.

“If you really want to live and breathe the Beach Race in Weston, then camping on-site really is the best way to do it.

“Campers will be just a stone’s throw from all the action on track and conveniently located for all the off-track entertainment we have planned to mark the 30th anniversary of the biggest off-road event in Great Britain. I’m quite tempted to bring a camper van myself.”

Pitches in the Platinum Campsite and the Quad Village can be purchased online through the official event website at or by calling RHL Activities on 01873 840640.
