A SCHEME to help elderly people through the cold weather has already raised £2,500 in North Somerset.

The Surviving Winter Campaign was launched just before Christmas by charitable organisation Quartet Community Foundation.

It called on people who can afford to forego their winter fuel payment to donate the money to help elderly people in North Somerset who are most vulnerable during the cold weather.

To donate visit www.localgiving.com/SurvivingWinterCampaign or send a cheque made payable to the Surviving Winter Campaign to Quartet Community Foundation, Royal Oak House, Royal Oak Avenue, Bristol BS1 4GB.
