COMMUNITIES in Sedgemoor which want to stop salesman knocking on their doors can sign up to a new initiative.
After the success of no cold-calling posters, which were put up in Ashcott Drive in Burnham, the Safer Sedgemoor Partnership is inviting villages including Axbridge, Cheddar and Wedmore to join the scheme.
Warning signs can be put up on lampposts to say that uninvited sales people are not welcome in the area. If the signs are ignored action could be taken by the police and trading standards.
Details about the scheme are available from the community safety team at Sedgemoor District Council on 01278 435235 or email community.safety@sedgemoor.gov.uk
